Red Dead Nettle
Introducing, Red Dead Nettle. It grows wild in my backyard.
Here is a little bit I learned about it on Wikipedia…
“Dead nettle leaves are highly nutritious. They’re a great source of vitamin C, iron, fiber, and flavonoids. Moreover, these leaves also have anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and antifungal properties as well as diuretic, astringent, diaphoretic, and purgative effects.“
Once I learned more about this plant, I had to ask myself, “Why do I keep killing these every single year with chemicals or the lawn mower, then turn around and go to the store to buy vitamins or over the counter medicine?”
One thing the pandemic has taught me is to be more independent from that system.
