2020 's van build
Destiny comes
2019 has gotten a lot more fun. The improvements are still happening.
The van now has a storage compartment on one side of the van and a larger refrigerator. The wiring in the entire van was done differently where a junction box is located on each side of the van to provide power.
I invested in more batteries which gives me 2.5 kilowatts of power.
Ollie is still with me, even during the van build. He is my inspectors and inspects every single addition to the van. He’s a good boy!
Say hi to Ollie.
My practice still includes building each section into modules (can be easily upgraded). I still take the van out camping to try the new changes out, or I do it in my driveway and I still return home when my camping trip doesn’t feel like I want to be there.
In the beginning of 2019, I couldn’t stay at the campsite more than a day or two. As improvements are made to the van, I get more comfortable being out and living in it and I find I can stay longer.

Destiny’s evolution
When I took my van out for the first time and slept, cooked, pooped, wash, dressed, ate, and used my office I realized quickly that I have some improvements to make.
- When I slept in the bed to relax and watch a movie my neck usually hurts after while.
- When I needed a change clothes, they were stored SOMEWHERE in a bin under the folding bed.
- The dark interior and covered windows required lights to always stay on.
- Dirty clothes, ice in the cooler didn’t last 2 days.
You get the picture.
Destiny evolved over time when a problem needed an answer.
I’d upgrade the bedroom. Take it out camping for 3 days to try it out. If it caused more problems, I’d start over. If it solved the problem I wanted addressed, I move to the next area to improve on it.
